Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American celebrity chef on television as well as a former teacher of the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers basic techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step for her following graduation with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great adventure for me. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell took a gap year to Italy taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and it has had an impact on her own eating habits. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity in the capacity of mentor as well as public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking.
