Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) who was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright, a pharmacist executive. Her birthplace was San Diego, California. Her
professional journey began at the age of 14 when she began modeling. She has
worked both in Paris, Japan and Paris. She chose to become an actress after she
had graduated from high school. She was cast on the soap opera Santa Barbara
(1984), for which she was nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy. In the initial
season of the show she fell in love with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon,
whom she married in 1986. In 1987, she played the title role in The Princess
Bride. After leaving the cast of Santa Barbara, she got the role of the lead in
Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. She got to know Sean Penn in 1990 while she
was in State of Grace (1990). They had a daughter Dylan Frances with him and an
infant son called Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood with Tara, one of
the most memorable roles in her career, following a break. She was extremely
beautiful and amazing. She was next seen in Toys (1992) in the film Toys (1992)
with Robin Williams. She gave an enthralling performance. Wright played the
role of Jenny in the blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994), co-starring with
Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of
her performance as Jenny. She was given a minor role in The Crossing Guard
(1995), which starred Jack Nicholson. After having rejected 14 roles, she was
finally offered the title role in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham
directed her and Stockard Channing played the role. Then, she appeared
alongside William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
