Rachel Emily Nichols

Rachel Emily Nichols was born in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Alison and James Nichols, a schoolteacher. She is of French Canadian, German and Irish descent. She completed her studies at Cony High School in Augusta when she competed in the high jump. Columbia University in New York City was where she earned an honors degree in economics and math. After starting modeling, she launched a successful career as a model for high-profile brands such as Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch, and L'Oreal. Rachel decided to get into acting and was offered a role on the HBO drama Sex and the City (1998). This was her first audition. In the prequel Dumb and Dumberer, When Harry met Lloyd (2003) her character made her film debut playing Jessica Matthews. Her popularity grew with roles in projects such as The Amityville Horror (2004), The Inside (2006), Alias (2002), and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 2009, Criminal Minds 2005 (a regular character in the role of FBI Agent Ashley Seaver), and Conan the Barbarian 2011 Columbia University, where she received a double-degree in math and economics, was her main role as Kiera Cameron (police officer), on the science-fiction series Continuum (2012). She was a model for Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch and L'Oreal. She was the restaurant hostess in Sex and the City, the first role she auditioned. Cony High School was where she received her diploma. Her maternal grandfather was 3 quarters Italian and one quarter German and her maternal grandmother was of English, Scottish, and Northern Irish descent. Nichols and her Star Trek (2009) co-star Zoe Saldana both went on to collaborate together with Stephen Lang. Saldana was with Lang in Avatar 2009; Nichols with Lang Conan the Barbarian 2011. On December 30, 2013, she became engaged to real estate developer Michael Kershaw. She is a natural blonde.
